Module 4 Discussion: Subject Matter Conversation (SMC): Multicultural Clinical Applications
The SMC will occur via a Microsoft Teams meeting with your professor.
During this meeting, we review the PowerPoint presentation on multicultural or cross-cultural considerations.
The SMC will take place during Week 4. Your instructor will confirm the day and time for which the meeting will occur.
After attending the SMC or watching the recording from the SMC and reviewing the PowerPoint within the discussion resources section below, respond to the reflection question:
Based on our Subject Matter Conversation, discuss the relationship between multicultural competence and community counseling. Think in terms of social justice issues and the political climate of your community. How might your perspective be informed by a Christian worldview? Support this component with at least one peer-reviewed resource (e.g., journal article, textbook) that supports the notion of multicultural or cross-cultural competence. Additionally, you are also welcome to use scripture, but you are encouraged to use quoted passages, rather than merely posting scriptural references.
Demonstrate incorporation and synthesis of course materials (and, if applicable, outside research) with appropriate use of references and in-text citations.
