Focus Topic: Article Critique 2 epidemiological study

Article Critique 2

In this assignment, you will evaluate an epidemiological study by applying Hill's guidelines we discussed in Module 11 to assess the strength of causal inference. Instructions

Identify one peer-reviewed epidemiology article from a reputable scientific journal (e..g, JAMA, Epidemiology, Annals of Epidemiology, American Journal of Public Health, American Journal of Preventive Medicine, American Journal of Epidemiology). The article should examine a health-related exposure and outcome using an epidemiological study design. You may use search engines such as PubMed or Google Scholar.

After identifying the article, read it thoroughly and address the following components.

Article title: Provide a full citation of the article you selected in APA format (0.5 point)

Introduction: Briefly introduce the study's research question, explore, outcome, population, and study design (1 point)

Hill’s Criteria: List each applicable criterion (you may not find evidence for all). For each criterion you include, explain whether the criterion is supported, partially supported, or not supported by the study. Do not simply state "supported" "partially supported" or "not supported". Include specific evidence you found from the study to justify your evaluation. (6 points)

Conclusion: summarize which criteria were met and which were not, and assess how well the study supports a causal interpretation of the association (1 point)
